Scott Weiland Enters Jail, Leaves Less Than 10 Hours Later

Scott Weiland, whose run-ins with authorities over the years are almost too numerous to count, has something to be thankful for: The Stone Temple Pilots frontman reportedly left jail on Monday night less than 10 hours after turning himself in to police following his DUI conviction.

The 40-year-old rocker was sentenced to eight days in an L.A. jail on April 28 after pleading no contest to the November 11 DUI conviction, which was his second. He had until May 28 to serve the sentence, which he received after being charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol with a previous conviction.

But Weiland was allowed to leave the jail in Van Nuys, California, at 6:54 p.m. on Monday after turning himself in at 8:55 a.m., according to People.

Weiland has also been ordered to take part in a year-and-a-half-long alcohol program, will be put on probation and must pay almost $2,000 in fines.

	rockshots: 05/13/2008 1:10 PM I guess the fines are peanuts to him, he'll be making loads of money on the Stone Temple Pilots new tours! Let's hope he doesn't spend any more of his cash on more drugs, because he's had way too much now.
	rockshots: 05/13/2008 1:11 PM I agree about the Robert Downey Jnr. and Layne Staley reference. Robert Downey Jnr. has been in and out of jail for various drugs offences, but he's made one hell of a great come back success with "Iron Man". Layne was a total waste of rare talent and he is still sadly missed.
