Tips and Instructions for Signing Up an Artist Profile on Buzznet

Below are instructions for signing up an artist profile on Buzznet. It is really important to follow each step, to eliminate the exhausting pain of having to continue to adjust settings. Please note you will not be able to view the links below until you are actually signing up your artist, but you should refer to this when going through the sign up process.

Go to artist sign up.
You must use a valid email address with the account.

Step 1: ARTIST SIGN-UP

- Choose Artist/Musician Account Type
- Fill out Required Fields
- Trust me it is worth receiving the Buzznet newsletter, don’t worry about getting mass amounts of email, below I will show you how to not receive hundreds of emails.

Step 2: PROFILE INFORMATION

- Fill in the band members names and their roles, then press save.
- Pull over some basic information from myspace and enter in their myspace friend id, which can be found in the url of the artists myspace page. (ie. -- http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=20810882)
- Check what has been pulled over from myspace and edit anything you don’t like the display of, as not everything pulls over exactly correct. Fill in the important information that didn’t get pulled over from myspace
- Then press save.

Step 3: PROFILE SETTINGS/DASHBOARD
- Click your dashboard or go to dashboard.
- Under My Settings select Privacy Settings
- You want to select NOBODY from the pull down menu for who can chat with me (unless you want a chat window).
- Select only Registered Members can comment on posts.
- Fill out the other fields per your preferences.
- Then press save (or next)

Step 4: EMAIL SETTINGS
Here is where you can adjust what notifications you receive through emails.
Click Verify your Email Address to that you receive the Buzznet news letter

Step 5: PASSWORD

- Buzznet provides each profile with a default keyword email address that allows you to send photos directly to your page via mobile or email.
- You can change or adjust your keyword email address here.

Step 6: MISC. SETTINGS
- Adjust your Main Page Title (this can be changed at any time)
- Then under settings go to Default Tags – ONLY add the bands name here, as that will be the only thing that is relevant to every post made to the profile. You can add more specific tags per post at a later time.

Step 7: FRIENDS/MANAGE FRIENDS
- Scroll to the bottom and on the right it says Manage Friends.
- Go to Friend Settings
- Private messages when friend request - SELECT NO
- Auto-add whoever adds me - SELECT YES (this will auto-add everyone who requests to be your friend, instead of you manually accepting)
- Then press save.

Step 8: HOW TO FIND & DEVELOP A FAN BASE ON BUZZNET?
- Search in the general search (photos/videos) for your artists' name or related artists.
- The search results will display the media that has been posted by members and tagged with that search term.
- Start to friend the Buzznet members that have posted content with relevant search terms to your artist.
- Leave comments on "your friends" pages.
- Do not be one of those artists that just promotes/spams.
- Get creative and upload photos/videos/blogs that are unique and compelling for all.
- Remember this is a community based website, so you must give to get :)
