Posting and Managing Photos

Buzznet is loaded with tools and functions for uploading and archiving your favorite photographs, whether you shoot them yourself or collect them from other sources.

To begin adding photos, click ‘Upload Photos’ on your main page. You can access this in numerous areas:

1) At the top of your sidebar menu:

2) In your Dashboard:

3) In your actual sidebar menu:

All of these will bring you to the basic bulk upload photo page:

Click 'Browse...' to select a photo to upload from your computer.

A separate File Upload window will open (example below), listing the images available on your computer.

Scroll down the list of files until you locate the entry for the image you want to post to your page.  Click once to highlight that image's listing.  A thumbnail of the image will show in the File Upload window, and an OPEN prompt will appear.

Please note: For basic photo uploads, please make sure you files are all in the .JPG format. You can embed other filetypes elsewhere on the site, but photo uploads will only accept .JPGs.

Click OPEN:  The File Upload window will close, and your desired image's file name will appear in the File: slot of the Post Photos window (shown below).

Once the image's file name has appeared in the File: slot, type a description or title to your photo in the ‘Caption’ box, which is to the right of the File: slot.

For groups of photos, you can add a general caption in the Caption box that runs along the bottom of the Post Photos window. If you choose this option, it will override the captions you entered individually after each photo.

Click SAVE, and your photo will be added to the images on your member page.

People with a backlog of pictures may feel that uploading one photo at a time is too slow.  To upload multiple photos, click ADD PHOTO in the Post Photos window.  Each click on ADD PHOTO opens another Browse... slot.  To open five Browse... slots at a time, click ‘Add 5 Photos.’ Now go ahead and select images for each of your open Browse...slots.

Clicking SAVE will upload all of these photos at once.

Don't worry about over-browsing.  If you OPEN a photo into your File: slot, then decide you don’t want to upload that photo, click the [Remove] button to the right, and the image will disappear.

Once you've assembled all the images you want in your Post Photos window, add the key tag words describing your photos so that your work will post to the appropriate Tag Pages.

Finally, use the drop-down menu on the Gallery slot to pick which of your galleries you want these new photos uploaded to.

If you want your new photos to form a new gallery on your page, open a new browser tab and click on your Settings page.

Under My Stuff  >>> Photos, select Manage Galleries.

A Create/Manage Galleries page will open.

Here, you can tell Buzznet what to name the new gallery. The name will be converted into an @buzznet.com URL.

You should also title your gallery in the Gallery Title box and place a brief summary of what this gallery is about in the Gallery Description box. The Gallery Title is what will appear to other people when they click through your photos:

If you'd like to have contributions to this gallery from your friends, choose a Public Keyword.  This word will become part of an e-mail address that you can send out to friends who you want to contribute to your gallery.  These friends can then send any images suitable for your gallery to that e-mail address.

Galleries do not have to be public.  The Create/Manage Galleries form offers options for total privacy, or for allowing only specific friends to view the images.  You can give your gallery a password that will be required for viewing:

You can pick the friends you want viewing a specific gallery from the SELECT drop-down menu or by adding their user names in the small box on the left

The arrangement of photos within the gallery, whether from Newest to Oldest or Oldest to Newest, is as simple as clicking on the indicated circle.

Finally, an abundance of color schemes is available through the Choose Color Options link at the bottom of the Create/Manage Galleries form.  You'll be able to mix and match color themes, and preview your choices on your actual homepage.

You can also manage all of your photos and galleries at any time by going to "Manage Photos" in your Dashboard:

Click on the gallery on the right side that you want to edit.

From there, select the pictures you'd like to manage:

At the bottom of the page, you can perform multiple actions to the photos you've selected.

Clicking "Add Tags" brings up the tag bar for you to tag multiple items at the same time. This is great for tagging a gallery all at once.

Click "Change Captions" to edit multiple captions at the same time and give them all the same caption:

Based on your user permissions, there are many things you can do by pulling down the dropdown menu:

You can remove all the images, set them to public, or make them private.

You can move your photos to your main default gallery or to any sub-gallery on your page:

You can send any photos to any group that allows you to post photos:

It's easy to get carried away with all the options of Creating and Managing Photo Galleries.

Just don't forget to hit SAVE when all your gallery choices have been made.

Additionally, you can make three other edits to your photos in the "Misc Settings" section of "My Settings."

The second option allows you to change whether your newest or oldest photos come first. You can also auto-tag all photos or disallow Buzznet from automatically resizing your photos:

does not matter what I enter as a gallery name, it says it is invalid

Don't use symbols (! , ' @, etc) or spaces in your gallery name.

how do u send pictures from my cellphone?

You go to your settings > email/mobile upload. You set a keyword. Then, when you take a pic from your phone, you send it to username.keyword@buzznet.com

Make sense?

I went to go make a new gallery and there is no section on my account to chose a gallery name. I'm not sure why that it, it has the gallery title and description, but not place to make up a name for it. So every time I click the save button it tells me to enter a name and title. Is there anyway I can fix this or work around it?

The Rotate Clockwise and Rotate CounterClockwise functions do not work on the photo edit pages.
