Bulletins

So what are bulletins? Bulletins are messages that can be sent out to people on your friends list. Everyone who you’ve added as a friend will be able to see it.

To see all the bulletins that have been posted by your friends click on Bulletins [1] in the right-hand panel. You will see a window like the one above. Here you can click on and view all the bulletins that were sent to you. Click on Post Bulletin [2] to create your own, it will be

sent to the people on your friends list.

Here you just have to give your message a subject, write the message you want your friends to see and then click Post Bulletin. It’s a good way of telling your entire friends list important stuff or just what’s going on.

If you don't want to see bulletins from a certain user you can click the "Ignore" button you see next to the post in your inbox.

Posting Videos

Posting Videos

Adding videos to your page is simple, start by clicking on ‘New Video’ on the menu to the right of your page.

You now have several options about what you want to do with your video.

To upload a video file select ‘File’ (this is the default) and click Browse. You can now look through the files on you computer and choose one to upload (note it must be under 50mb and in one of the following formats: .mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp4, .auf, .3gp, .wmv, .flv.

If the video you want to add has a web address where it’s stored, select URL and copy (ctrl + c) and paste (ctrl + v) the web address into the space provided.

You can add a title and a description in the spaces provided, and even add a few tags that describe the video and can draw attention to it.

You can also choose whether you want the video to be public (everyone can see it) private (goes into your private folder, people will need a password to get in here) or to be viewable only by people you have added as friends.

Checking the ‘Post to MySpace’ will allow you to post your video to your MySpace account, an extra set of fields will appear asking you to fill in your MySpace details and how you want the post to appear.

When all that’s done, just click ‘Upload Video’ and you’re done! Be patient though, sometimes it can take a while, especially for large videos or when you're using a low bandwidth connection.

Forums

Here are some basics on how to use the forums. Each tag now has its own forum, clicking on the forum button on that tag’s page will take you to its forum. Below is an example of a main page, from here you can see what’s being discussed, who started the discussion, how many replies there are and how long ago the last reply was made.

Clicking on ‘Subject’ will sort topics alphabetically. Likewise clicking ‘Author’ will sort by the original poster (sorted alphabetically). ‘Replies’ will sort by the most populous subjects, and ‘Last Post’ will sort by the most recent responses. Clicking on an author’s name will take you to their profile; this also works when you have entered a discussion.

To enter a discussion simply click on the name of the subject (e.g. ‘FOB & Kidz Bop’) and you will see the original message and all the replies.

Here you can add your own reply by either clicking on the ‘REPLY’ button, or using the box at the bottom of the page, where you can simply write your reply and then click ‘POST REPLY’ button. If you want to quote someone, simply click [Quote], located in the bottom right of their post. The forum will do the rest.

Also on this page you can see the ten most recent topics in the forum, and there is a new topic button so you can add your own from here.

At the top of every forum page you will see a menu bar giving you several more options. ‘Upload’ lets you add a photo or video to the forums, along with a title and a description or comment. ‘Post to forum’ lets you start your own topic, and on the main page there is a box at the bottom of the page where you can also do this. ‘Add as favorite’ will add the forum as a favorite place on you own profile.
